Sapphire for Baselight
FilmLight has partnered with Boris FX to create Sapphire for Baselight. This is the long-established Sapphire suite of OFX plugins, optimised for use in Baselight and now sold and supported by FilmLight.
Boris FX Sapphire is no longer supported in Baselight 6.0 or Daylight 6.0; instead, you can use Sapphire for Baselight with these versions :
- On Linux:
- Baselight 6.0 19881 and newer
- Daylight 6.0 19882 and newer
- On macOS:
- Baselight 6.0 23768 and newer
- Daylight 6.0 23769 and newer
You can purchase a Sapphire for Baselight subscription directly from FilmLight. You can also request a 30-day trial licence.
If you have an existing Boris FX Sapphire licence, please contact your FilmLight sales representative.
Installing Sapphire for Baselight on Linux
- Open a terminal window and become the root user.
On Baselight TWO and X systems, make sure you log into the node. - Type:
- Press Enter.
rpm -Uvh SapphireForBaselight-2025.510-23456.rpm
Activating Sapphire for Baselight on Linux and macOS
- In Baselight, go to Baselight > Licence and select the Sapphire for Baselight tab. Enter the activation code and click Activate.
- If the system is not connected to the internet, visit the website below where you can enter the activation code and your machine ID to generate a licence file. Copy this file back to the system and use the License File option on the Activate with menu in the Licence window.

Your machine ID can also be found in the Licence window.
