These sessions will help you build the skills needed to create seamless integrations with your FilmLight products making your workflows smarter, faster and more efficient.

All sessions are 2.5 hours and led by former facilities expert Mustapha Laatita.

Session 1 – Foundations (Tuesday 28th April)

This introductory session provides the core fundamentals for the series. You will learn the basics of Python scripting and how to connect your scripts to the user interface. We will also cover how to effectively control and interact with the Queue Manager, giving you practical tools to automate and streamline your workflows.

This session is based on Mustapha’s Backroom Engine, which was previewed during the kickoff of the FLAPI discussions, providing a practical, real world example to support your learning.

Session 2 (Wednesday 6th May)

Building on the foundations from Session 1, you will learn how to integrate a dust busting model into your Filmlight products, enabling automated detection and cleanup of image artefacts to improve overall image quality and efficiency in your workflow. It will also provide an example of how to implement your own Flexi effect into Baselight.

The discussion will also be opened up to explore real world scenarios where FLAPI can help improve workflow efficiencies.

Session 3 (Wednesday 13th May)

This session takes a closer look at how FLAPI can support a daylight workflow, with a focus on Shots View and the manipulation of metadata. It will demonstrate how to efficiently manage and adjust shot based information to enhance your grading and review process.”
